Sultan The Warrior is a Rs.700 mn 3D film

The cost of Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros joint venture Sultan The Warrior featuring an animated Rajinikanth in a full length 3D movie is around Rs.700 million, said sources from its financier Exim Bank on Saturday.

According to the source, Sultan The Warrior will be the first ever costliest animated feature film in India and the is expected to generate at least Rs.2.50 billion. The producers announced that the film would hit more than 1700 screens worldwide simultaneously.

While Ocher Studios is owned by Soundarya, daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth, Adlabs is owned by Anil Ambani. It is remembered that actor Ajith Kumar has been signed to play a key role in Ocher Studios’ untitled solo maiden venture in feature film segment, Soundarya told reporters on Saturday. Work on the Ocher-Warner Bros joint venture, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s earlier Blockbuster Billa (recently remade for Ajith) will begin in April next year

Shukla’s film on Scarlett Keeling tragedy

The tragedy of British teenager Scarlett Keeling, who was raped and murdered in Goa recently, will be soon on celluloid with Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif expected to play Scarlett in the film. A top star is likely to be roped in to play the male lead.
Director Prabhakar Shukla has begun work on the big budget film that is scheduled for a December release. “My film is going to speak against drug abuse and exploitation prevalent in our society. It will highlight the problem of drugs among youths today, which is spoiling their life, I just want them to learn something from it,” says the director.
Shukla is also set to visit 15-year-old Scarlett’s mother Fiona Mckeown in UK next month to clear her doubts regarding the improper portrayal of her daughter’s life in his forthcoming film. The director says that his aim is to bring out the negative impact of drug abuse on youths’ life and he has no desire to sensationalise the story.
Shukla had earlier made the much controversial film Kahani Gudiya Ki, based on the true story of a young Muslim girl, who was unwittingly the wife of two men.

Red Ribbon Express at Secunderabad

The Red Ribbon Express has been designed to promote awareness among the people about AIDS. The goodwill train will cover 180 stations all over India by end-2008. It has already covered 13 states in six months. The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, which was instrumental in designing the train, hoped that it would inform and educate Indians about the deadly disease. Some NGOs are also involved in the campaign.
After its arrival, nearly 4,000 people turned up to view the anti-AIDS campaign being carried by the Red Ribbon Express at the Secunderabad railway station. Next week it will be stationed at Nellore and Renigunta and then travel to Tamil Nadu.

Dos and Donts to prevent credit card fraud

With the increasing use of credit cards, the white collared criminals are on the prowl to steal by misusing the credit cards of others.
Credit card fraud occurs when details are stolen by hacking online websites or by collecting details from places where the card was used. The prospective criminals steal the credit cards data including its 16-digit number, its three- or four- digit CVV (credit verification value) and expiry date. CVV is an anti-fraud security feature to verify that the credit card is in possession of its genuine owner. The account number, CVV and expiry date are required to complete a transaction.
The data is stolen usually at petrol pumps, shopping complexes and bars and restaurants where the customers are not alert. Hackers steal the data from unsafe websites or at internet cafes

The following are a few Dos and Donts to prevent credit card fraud:

At outlets where you use the credit card, watch as your card is swiped.
Avoid using credit or debit cards at cyber cafes.
Don’t shop online on unprotected websites.
Never use the card on pornography sites.
If the bank offers SMS alerts for credit and debit card transactions, subscribe to it.
Make sure your credit card company has your current phone number so they can call you if they see a suspicious pattern of transactions.
Don’t use a debit card over the Internet. Your credit card fraud liability is limited but debit card fraud could drain your account.
Keep track of transactions. You should remember at least the last five transactions. Also check the monthly statements and make a random check of transactions.
Keep receipts and check your credit card statement against them.
Lodge a police complaint and inform the bank if you suspect fraud.

Credit card scamsters used Orkut network

The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police busted n inter-state criminal gang following a complaint from a Hyderabad-based person who found that the gang had fraudulently used his credit card data to purchase air tickets.
This inter-state gang operating from Mumbai and Visakhapatnam used the social networking website Orkut to buy airline tickets with stolen credit card data. The tickets were sold at a discount to unsuspecting buyers, mostly employees of the Vizag and Bokaro steel plants who were availing their leave travel concession.

The scam started unraveling when one Ravinder Reddy of Kalyannagar in Dilshuknagar received an SMS from ICICI Bank on May 6 stating that he had purchased an air ticket from Kolkata to Guwahati. Reddy who had done no such thing immediately approached the police who booked a complaint and began investigations
The CCS police arrested one Umapathi Thakur alias Vikas Kumar alias Praveen, 22, of Jharkhand who was a key operative. The Mumbai-based scamsters who booked the tickets with stolen credit card data are still at large. Umapathi’s office, Ganga Ticket Solutions, was located near the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
